On the day of your arrival in Porto, known as “The City of Bridges”, you will find many places to visit. Some of the recommended visits are the Luis I Bridge, the de la Se Cathedral and the colourful Douro river shore, with its lively atmosphere.
The city, the birthplace of the famous Porto wine, also has a wide range of museums and a multitude of activities related to its wine. In order to enjoy all that Porto has to offer to its visitors, you will need at least 2 days. If you want, you can add an additional night in Porto to your trip. Contact us for more information.

    Day 3
    From Fajozes to Arcos
On this stage you will enjoy forests of eucalyptus and pine trees; and some beautiful bridges that will be found along your path, such as Dom Zameiro, over the River Ave, or the medieval bridge of Sao Miguel, at the entrance of Arcos. The tour is simple and is made along paved tracks and dirt trails.

    Distance: 12 kilometres.

    Accommodation: Overnight in Arcos.

    Day 4
    From Arcos to Barcelos
This day is especially interesting on the Camino Central Portugues Route from Porto. On the first part of the tour you will pass through the beautiful village of Sao Pedro de Rates, then continue through rural environments until the end of the stage.

After crossing the medieval bridge, over the River Cavado, you will reach Barcelos, one of the great landmarks of this tour. The town, in addition to its rich architecture, has one of the most famous legends on the Camino Portugues and that gave rise to the colourful porcelain rooster that you will find in many souvenir shops in the country.

    Distance: 15 kilometres.

    Accommodation: Overnight in Barcelos.

    Day 5
From Barcelos to Ponte de Lima
Today you will walk through a much greener environment than on previous days. The landscape is dominated by the presence of vineyards, which advise you of the proximity of the capital of Vinho Verde, Ponte de Lima.

The tour is quite long and has continuous slopes, but the numerous villages that you will find on your path will compensate you for the effort. The day ends in the monumental town of Ponte de Lima, after crossing the Roman bridge that gives the town its name.

    Distance: 35 kilometres.

Accommodation: Overnight in Ponte de Lima.

    Day 6
From Ponte de Lima to San Pedro de Rubiaes
Two milestones mark this journey. One is the climb to Alto da Portela Grande de Labruja, one of the most demanding stretches of the Camino Central Portugues Route. The other is the continuous presence of the River Labruja and its pleasant surroundings.

The tour ends in San Pedro de Rubiaes, a quiet hamlet with scattered houses where you will find some sights, such as the parish church and the Solar das Antas.

    Distance: 19 kilometres.

Accommodation: Overnight in San Pedro de Rubiaes.

    Day 7
From San Pedro de Rubiaes to Tui
On your last day of walking you will continue to be surrounded by green hills that announce the entrance to Galicia. In the company of the River Coura, you will reach Valenca do Mino, where we recommend that you visit its impressive fortress.

From there, crossing the Tui International Bridge, over the River Mino, you will leave Portugal to enter Galicia, the lands of Santiago the Apostle. The tour ends in Tui, an ancient medieval city.

    Distance: 20 kilometres.

    Accommodation: noche en Tui.

    Day 8
    Tui
In Tui you will find a lively atmosphere with pilgrims who travel there to complete the last 100 kilometres of the Camino Portugues. In this small town, in the province of Pontevedra, you will find various attractions. One of the most outstanding is the Cathedral of Santa Maria, one of the most important in Galicia.

You can also take the time to eat at one of the private houses that offer traditional food and fine wines, called furanchos. They are very typical in this region of Galicia, where you eat really well and at a very good price.

If you want to add an extra night in Tui to discover its surroundings or extend your trip by adding some stage of the stretch that joins Tui with Santiago de Compostela, do not hesitate to contact us.
